As far as my memory goes, I can recall my drive to art and connection to it. Although young in years, I knew this was my gift. I remember being around my grandfather and seeing how he could turn any material into a piece of art, a simple piece of wood into an artisan bench, a bag out of mesh material and so on. I can clearly recall as el cucho (grandpa) would make his own fishing rods out of bamboo, enjoyed sawing and his love and attention to animals was one like I had never seen before.
Although I did not spend many years with him, he was and continues to be my biggest inspiration for creativity
